- The NESDIS CI Director and Administrator's Meeting will be held at CICS in College Park, MD on June 17-19, 2008. This is a chance for the directors and administrators from each NESDIS institute to get together and discuss current issues as well as visit each institute in person.
- The annual SMILE Highschool Challenge was held April 17-18, 2008 at Western Oregon University and Oregon State University. The 13 SMILE highschool after school clubs gathered to participate in an intense 24 hour challenge that focused this year on tsunami awareness and preparedness. The teams prepared Public Service Announcements, including posters and short video presentations.
- CIOSS hosted a very successful Coastal Altimeter Workshop on February 5-7, 2008 in Silver Spring, MD. Information about the meeting and travel arrangements can be found here.
- Recent projects by CIOSS Fellows and others can be found in the navigation
menu under Reports & Publications/CIOSS Fellows Projects. CIOSS is housed
with the College of Oceanic and Atmospheric Sciences (COAS), and these projects
can be found in their online magazine called "Ocean & Air".
